“In any future war, air power will play a vital and important role in deciding the outcome,” he said.
In his address on the occasion, the IAF chief stressed the need to maintain a high state of readiness to deal with emerging emergencies, and also emphasized the need to ensure smooth integration.
Chaudhary acknowledged the efforts of the commanders and urged them to continue to ensure that the IAF remains alert and ready at all times.
He said the three main drivers that necessitated ideological revision were changes in our threat environment, the changing character of warfare and rapid advances in technology.
The revised doctrine reflects our operational experiences from actual conflict situations as well as from exercises within the country and with foreign air forces.
This doctrine defines the role of air power in the overall national security matrix and focuses on aspects that provide guidance in peace, war and non-war peace situations. (CNI)
