Ganderbal, August 22 : Ahead of the Assembly Elections 2024, the District Election Officer (DEO) of Ganderbal, Shyambir, conducted a thorough inspection of various polling stations, the Distribution Cum Collection Centre (DCRC), and the Integrated District Election Control Room today.
Accompanied by SSP Ganderbal, Wasim Qadri, ACR Ganderbal, the Deputy DEO, the CEO, and other officials, the DEO focused on assessing the readiness of polling infrastructure within the Ganderbal Assembly Constituency. The inspection covered key facilities at polling stations, including ramps for wheelchair access, drinking water facilities, electricity, and toilet arrangements.
During interactions with the election staff, the DEO emphasized ensuring a fair and equitable voting experience for every voter. He called for close coordination among officials to maintain high standards of accessibility and efficiency at all polling stations.
The DEO also visited the Dispatch Cum Receipt Centre at Government Degree College Ganderbal, reviewing the arrangements and instructing officials to ensure fool-proof operations at the DCRC.
Later, Shyambir inspected the Integrated District Election Control Room, reviewing staff deployment, communication systems, and response protocols. He expressed satisfaction with the preparations but stressed the importance of vigilance and responsiveness during the election period.CNI
