Srinagar, cni In a decisive strategic engagement that underlines the Bharatiya Janata Party’s long term political roadmap for Jammu and Kashmir, General Secretary Organisation BJP J&K Ashok Koul convened a high level coordination meeting with BJP State Executive Member Mohammad Amin Shah and Sheikh Bashir, Prabhari Budgam. The meeting, held with an unmistakable sense of urgency and purpose, focused squarely on gearing up the party cadre for the forthcoming local body elections across the Union Territory.

While formal election schedules are yet to be notified, Ashok Koul made it abundantly clear that preparedness cannot be deferred. “We must remain on our toes,” he asserted, setting the tone for proactive mobilisation and disciplined organisational execution. The message was unambiguous, electoral success is built well before dates are announced, through sustained engagement, booth level readiness, and alignment with public sentiment.

Koul underscored that the Bharatiya Janata Party continues to enjoy widespread acceptance among the people of Jammu and Kashmir, driven by tangible development outcomes and a governance first approach. He noted that citizens are increasingly appreciative of the BJP’s performance on the ground, particularly its emphasis on infrastructure, service delivery, and inclusive development.

In sharp contrast, Koul pointed to the visible and growing anti-incumbency against the ruling National Conference. According to him, public dissatisfaction with the NC government is no longer confined to political discourse but is clearly reflected in grassroots feedback. The erosion of trust, he observed, has created a political vacuum one that the BJP is uniquely positioned to fill.

Despite being in opposition in the Assembly, the BJP, Koul emphasised, has emerged as the principal hope for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Its credibility, organisational depth, and development centric ideology have positioned it as a natural alternative to an underperforming incumbent. The party’s commitment to ground level development, he reiterated, is not rhetorical but operational anchored in execution, accountability, and outcomes.

Mohammad Amin Shah, BJP State Executive Member, senior leader from Ganderbal, stated that the party’s organisational strength at the grassroots level is its greatest asset, adding that BJP workers are fully aligned with the leadership’s vision of participatory governance and are prepared to engage proactively with people in every panchayat and municipality.

Sheikh Bashir who is the most senior leader of BJP J&K and currently serving as Prabhari Budgam, remarked that the public mood across Kashmir is clearly favouring change, noting that people are seeking performance, accountability, and development an agenda that only the BJP has consistently delivered on the ground.

The meeting concluded with clear directives to intensify outreach, strengthen local structures, and ensure seamless coordination across districts. As Jammu and Kashmir moves closer to the next phase of grassroots democracy, the BJP’s message is clear strategic readiness, people centric governance, and organisational discipline will define the next political chapter of the Union Territory.
