Srinagar, 09 March (CNI): The body of a man, who had jumped into river Jhelum on 15th February was fished out on Thursday afternoon from Jhelum river in Safa Kadal area in Srinagar city.
An official told Current News of India (CNI) that the body of a man, identified as Hilal Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Khag Budgam, who had jumped into the river on the 15th of February, was fished out after 22 days from river Jehlum .
Adds that some locals saw a body of a man floating in the river at Gazi Mohalla Safakadal and immediately informed the concerned police about it, soon after receiving the info a police team reached to the spot and took away the body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and started further investigation in this regard. (CNI)
