CBJ Produces Charge Sheet Against Accused Brothers for Hatching Conspiracy, Fake PRC

Jammu: Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Jammu (CBJ) on Saturday produced 158 page charge-sheet against two accused brothers for hatching criminal conspiracy and managing fake PRC to avail rehabilitation package as POJK refugee.

In a statement issued to News Agency Current News of India (CNI) /RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu against accused – Mohinder Pal Singh and Ajit Pal Singh (Expired) both sons of Piara Lal @ Piara Singh residents of Korotana Kalan Tehsil-RS Pura (Now Suchetgarh) Jammu, at present village Magarpur Tehsil Mustafabad District Yamuna Nagar, Haryana for their involvement in hatching criminal conspiracy and managing fake PRC with the motive of using it as genuine before the office of PRO (Provincial Rehabilitation Office) Jammu to avail Rehabilitation package/ compensation of an amount of Rs.4,49,692 as POJK Refugee.

“The case owes its origin to a written complaint lodged by Gurnam Singh son of Gian Singh, resident of Nai Basti Korotana Khurd, Tehsil Suchetgarh, R.S Pura Jammu, alleging therein that the accused is a displaced person of Jalbhi Tehsil Bhimber District Mirpur and he manipulated the permanent resident certificate in his favour by producing the fraudulent documents. After obtaining the PRC (Permanent resident certificate) the accused connived with the concerned Revenue Authorities and got the original file and record destroyed to hush up the fraud and later produced the PRC as genuine before the concerned authorities to claim one time Settlement Relief as POJK refugee,” reads the statement.

On receipt of the complaint a preliminary verification was initiated and during the probe the allegations were prima facie substantiated, leading to the registration of formal case for in depth investigation, it added.

As per Current News of India (CNI) that during the course of investigation relevant record was seized, statement of witnesses recorded, Scientific, Circumstantial and other Material evidence was gathered and offenses U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 201, 120-B/RPC were established against the accused and the charge sheet was produced in the Court of law for judicial determination, the statement concluded.
