Srinagar, Aug 2: Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari on Saturday welcomed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s recent appeal to the Central government, urging it to address what he described as the emotional and political disconnect between New Delhi and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Bukhari called Mirwaiz’s remarks a “significant and meaningful appeal” and said it reflected a growing realisation that the resolution of all issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir lies with the Government of

India.“Mirwaiz’s call for the Centre to address the ‘dil ki doori’ between New Delhi and J&K is a significant and meaningful appeal. It reflects his realisation and acknowledgement of the fact that the resolution of all issues concerning J&K lies solely with the Government of India,” Bukhari wrote. He urged the Centre to respond constructively to the appeal by initiating a series of confidence-building measures aimed at

restoring trust and bridging the long-standing emotional gap.Bukhari also reminded the Union government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s own commitment to overcome the emotional divide. “The Centre should respond to his appeal positively by initiating much-needed CBMs to bridge the ‘dil ki doori’ — a commitment also made by the Hon’ble Prime Minister,” he

added. The statement comes amid growing calls for reconciliation and meaningful political engagement in the region, particularly in the aftermath of the abrogation of Article 370.
