Srinagar, 19 February (CNI): The Jammu and Kashmir administration has directed all administrative secretaries to monitor social media networks to identify employees who make objectionable comments on government policies so that action can be taken against them.
According to News agency-Current News of India (CNI), Chief Secretary AK Mehta has issued clear instructions in a meeting that action should be taken against any government employees who make unnecessary comments on government policies on social media platforms.
In this regard, he directed the General Administrative Department to issue a circular and said during the meeting that It was observed that some civil servants are criticizing the government’s policies and achievements and making offensive comments on social media platforms.
He directed all administrative secretaries to monitor social media networks regularly and issue notices to these employees under intimation to GAD. As a follow-up to the chief secretary’s instructions, sources said that the concerned district magistrates have issued notices to all the districts and sent instant messages to the sectoral officers and instructed them to be careful about giving instructions to their subordinates.
