Listens to public demands/ issue during Public Darbar

Budgam : The Commissioner Secretary, JK Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kour today presided over a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), program and chaired a Public Darbar at Higher Secondary School in Magam of Budgam District.
On the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary inspected stalls, installed by different departments to showcase their products and for awareness generation regarding different schemes and flagship initiatives.
With locals overwhelmingly participating in the activities, the VBSY function witnessed impressive gathering from all local wards of Town Magam.
After holding flower ceremony of the VBSY Van and Izband ceremony, the Commissioner Secretary also administered Sankalp Pledge to the officers and other participants on the occasion.
While chairing public darbar, the Commissioner Secretary also listened to the general public, PRIs and senior citizens from different wards and Panchayats of Magam and other blocks of Budgam, who raised their issues and demands for redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary stressed on creating awareness on all government schemes and flagship programmes among the general public.
She emphasised on saturation of all schemes to achieve the objective of VBSY campaign.
The Commissioner Secretary said that VBSY van which shall traverse all panchayats and urban areas shall help in creating massive awareness on schemes through screening of pre- recorded films and videos.
After listening to public demands, the Commissioner Secretary assured that all genuine grievances shall be taken up with concerned departments for early redressal.
She stressed on making people aware on utilization of funds under different sectors for their awareness of ongoing developmental works in their respective areas.
She directed concerned officers to ensure prompt service delivery and early disposal of public grievances.
During the nationwide outreach initiative aimed at informing and empowering citizens about the Centre’s flagship schemes, a series of activities including skits, cultural events, singing of Swacchta song and other related programmes were also held on the occasion.
The participants welcomed VBSY Van with much enthusiasm and screening of Hon’ble Prime Minister’s message and other movies to generate awareness on Central Government’s initiatives for public welfare.
Some achievers were also felicitated for their exemplary work in different fields during the programme.
Secretary RDD& PR, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Director RDD, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, ADDC Budgam, SDM Beerwah, ACD Budgam and other District/ sectoral officers were also present on the occasion.CNI
