It is a moment of immense pride and collective joy that Shreemai Bhat and Soham Bhat have been selected to represent India at the Junior Asian Soft Tennis Championship 2026, to be held at Jassowal, Ludhiana. Their selection is a shining testimony to years of hard work, discipline, perseverance, and consistent excellence at national and international levels.
Shreemai Bhat, a four-time National Medalist and student of K.C. Public School, has already brought great laurels to Jammu & Kashmir. Her outstanding performances, including two Gold Medals at the ASMITA North Zone League and representation of India at the Junior World Amateur Soft Tennis Championship in Jingshan, China (2024), speak of her dedication and sporting excellence.
Soham Bhat, a State Gold Medalist and two-time National Medalist, has also represented India at the Junior World Amateur Soft Tennis Championship, China (2024). His steady rise, technical skill, and competitive spirit have earned him this prestigious continental selection.
Belonging to a humble Kashmiri Pandit family migrated from Kulgam, Kashmir, these siblings have faced displacement and challenges with courage and resilience, turning adversity into achievement. Their success is not only a matter of pride for their family, but a collective celebration for the entire Kashmiri Pandit community and the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
