Srinagar, (CNI): Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, Wakf Board Chairperson Dr Darakhshan Andrabi has appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness by properly disposing of sacrificial animal waste.
Urging people to dig pits and bury remains instead of dumping them on roads or in dustbins, Dr Andrabi said such practices attract stray dogs and create unhygienic conditions. “Islam teaches us cleanliness. Let us not disrespect the sacrifice by polluting our surroundings,” she said.
She called on the youth to lead by example and follow Islamic guidelines on hygiene, expressing confidence in their awareness and responsibility.
Dr Andrabi also warned that anyone found littering public spaces with sacrificial waste will face fines. The Wakf Board, she said, is coordinating with authorities to ensure a clean and respectful observance of the festival. (CNI)
