Srinagar, Dec 14 :- Mohammad Altaf Dar, Provincial Vice President of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party Kashmir Province addressed the pressing concerns of the public amidst the harsh winter by urging the central government/LG Administration to waive adjustment charges for ‘protected’ consumers utilizing up to 300 units per month.
As per the News Agency Current news of India (CNI) In a statement to the press, Dar highlighted the frustration among people regarding the escalating cost of living, primarily fueled by runaway inflation. He emphasized that residential electricity consumers are particularly aggrieved by inflated power bills, compounding the financial strain on low- and middle-income groups already grappling with inflation’s harsh effects.
“The recent surge in electricity bills has severely impacted consumers, with costs more than doubling for many households, making bill payments an overwhelming challenge,” stated Dar. He underscored that this surge in electricity expenses adds to the hardships faced by families coping with soaring prices of essential commodities and diminishing real wages.
Dar plea for relief resonates with the plight of consumers struggling to meet their basic needs amidst economic adversity. He urged swift action to alleviate the burden on ‘protected’ consumers, a step crucial in mitigating the financial distress exacerbated by rising utility costs during these challenging times.Current News of India (CNI)
