Srinagar, CNI: Former Sadre Riyasat Dr Karan Singh has welcomed the India-Pakistan ceasefire, calling it a much-needed step that prevented a dangerous escalation of the conflict. In a statement issued Monday, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Armed Forces for the execution of “Operation Sindoor”, describing it as “matured, professional and effective.”
Dr Singh said the Prime Minister showed “wisdom” by granting the forces a free hand during the operation, which reportedly targeted militant infrastructure and military bases inside mainland Pakistan, including Rawalpindi.
“I congratulate the Prime Minister and all ranks of the Armed Forces for their efficient and determined handling of the situation. The lethal strikes on terrorist headquarters and military installations achieved their objectives,” he said.
He urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to swiftly assess damage, especially in the Poonch-Rajouri sector, and provide compensation and assistance to the affected families.
Offering condolences to those who lost their lives in the recent cross-border escalation, Dr Singh also thanked former US President Donald Trump for his role in encouraging the ceasefire agreement. (CNI)
