DTFC discusses future plan of One Stop Centre in Doda

DODA, October 14: Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan, today convened a meeting of the District Task Force Committee (DTFC) meeting to discuss the future plan of One Stop Centre. DC, who is the chairman of the Task Force Committee, had a detailed review of the working of One Stop Centre(OSC) and discussed critical issues with the Task Force members.

It was decided in the meeting that the NGO, the HOPE, shall cease to run the One Stop Centre in the District as is the case in other districts of the UT. It was further decided that the One Stop Centre shall be taken over and run by the District Administration through its sub committee headed by DPO-ICDS Doda. Until the new office bearers are engaged purely on a temporary and honorarium basis, the existing staff shall be allowed to perform their duties on the terms and conditions agreed upon by the NGO HOPE. The Sub Committee shall advertise the honorary posts and ensure their engagement within one month as per the specifications mentioned in the relevant rules.

It is pertinent to mention here that One Stop Centres (OSC) are functioning in all districts of the UT to facilitate and support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace.
Women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, and economic abuse, irrespective of age, class, caste, education status, marital status, race, and culture, are facilitated with support and redressal.

The aggrieved women facing any kind of violence due to attempted sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, honour-related crimes, acid attacks or witch-hunting who have reached out or been referred to the OSC are being provided with specialized services.

The meeting was attended by SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, CPO Doda Suresh Kumar, DPO ICDS Doda Ashfaq Khanji, DSWO Doda Tariq Qazi, President Bar Association Doda, and other concerned.
