In the village Lachipora of Handwara on Wednesday, an 85-year-old man was struck by a Tata Sumo and killed.

Reports said that a Speedy Tata Sumo struck and killed an 85-year-old man named Ali Mohammad Dar, a resident of Lachipora, at around 2:00 PM in the Lachipora region of Handwara, and that the sumo’s driver fled the scene.

They claimed that immediately following the event, locals flocked to the location and sent the injured person to the GMC Handwara, where doctors immediately pronounced the driver dead.

Meanwhile, the event has been reported to police, and an investigation has begun.
