Free Medical Camp and “Barefoot” Anti-Drug Campaign Planned in Surankote, PoonchThe efforts and initiatives of the G. R. Beigh Memorial Foundation are receiving widespread public appreciation and strong community support.The Foundation is organizing a free medical camp on August 9 and 10 in Surankote, Poonch, alongside a powerful “Barefoot Campaign” against drug abuse, led by the foundation’s dynamic chairman Ishtiyaq Ahmad Beigh. The initiative, aiming to
raise awareness about the growing menace of substance abuse, has drawn praise from civil society groups, educational organizations, and activists from across Jammu & Kashmir.According to CNI, several organizations including Peerwar Foundation, Kashmir Glorious Car Society, Hamdania Quranic School & Islamic Library Trust, District Development Forum Budgam, and
Jammu & Kashmir Noble Cause Civil Society have extended full support to the medical camp and the anti-drug campaign. They also lauded the tireless efforts of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Beigh, whose leadership continues to inspire many.In a joint statement, Gulzar Ahmad Ganaie, President of the Kashmir Gulukaar Society and Chairman of the Peerwar Foundation, expressed solidarity with the cause, saying:“We fully support the

challenges, Prof. M. L. Sharma, former Professor of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery at SKIMS and current President of the G. R. Beigh Memorial Foundation, continues to lend his guidance and support to the foundation.Prof. Sharma is undergoing daily dialysis and recently had double stenting performed at Jammu Medical College. Yet, his resolve remains unshaken.
Even in such physically demanding circumstances, he continues to mentor and support the foundation’s mission with courage and compassion. His selfless dedication serves as a pillar of inspiration for the team and the wider community.This upcoming medical camp and barefoot campaign not only represent a fight against illness and addiction but also symbolize the resilience and unity of those striving for a healthier, drug-free society.
