Srinagar, 09 March (CNI): The residents of Bun-Mohalla Singhpora Pattan area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district staged a protest against the Power development department for frequent unscheduled power cuts in the area.
Reports reaching Current News of India (CNI) that the residents of Bun-Mohalla Singhpora took to the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway and chanted slogans against the Power development department for failing to redress their genuine demand.
A local protestor told CNI that the PDD department did not bother about the sufferings of common people, they have made our life miserable as we have only 60 KV transformer installed for more than 100 households which leads to overload frequently.
Another protester said that instead of ensuring regular power supply, the Power Development Department is resorting to forced cuts, We are witnessing repeated power cuts, both in the mornings and evenings.
Meanwhile, SDM Pattan, Syed Faheem and DO Mirgund reached to the spot and assured the protesters of resolving the genuine demand on an immediate basis and the protesters dispersed peacefully. (CNI)
