Continuing its unwavering commitment to a drug-free society, the G. R. Beigh Memorial Foundation organised a three-day mega medical camp in Kishtwar as part of its ongoing Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, an awareness campaign launched three years ago.
The program, which has extended its reach across both Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and into educational institutions in Punjab where a large number of Kashmiri students study, reflects the foundation’s firm resolve to curb drug abuse through education, medical support, and community participation.
The event was flagged off from the head office of G. R. Beigh Memorial Foundation in Bilal Colony, Soura, Srinagar at 10 AM on 26th July 2025, in the presence of Mr. Qazi Sarwar, Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir, and Mrs. Nighat Siddiqui, Chief Patron of the Foundation. Together, they will see off the dedicated team of doctors, paramedical staff, journalists, and Hussaini Khidmatgaar volunteers who lead the campaign in Kishtwar.
The mission was headed by Mr. Ishtiyaq Beigh, senior trade union leader and Chairman of the G. R. Beigh Memorial Foundation. In a symbolic act of commitment and solidarity with victims of addiction, Mr. Beigh undertook a barefoot march in Kokernag and Duksum raising awareness about the alarming rise of drug abuse among the youth.Mr Qazi Sarwar was awarded for his continued support for holding free medical camps, blood donation camps and Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan by presenting a shawl to Mr Qazi by foundation
