Reasi:cni Government Degree College Reasi celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour, beginning the day with a spirited Tiranga Rally within the college campus.
Students, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, faculty members, and staff participated enthusiastically, carrying the national flag and raising slogans to honour the sacrifices of freedom fighters. The rally, led under the supervision of college staff, infused the air with the spirit of unity and pride.In the evening, the celebrations continued with a vibrant cultural programme organised by the Cultural Committee in collaboration with the NCC Unit of the college, under the patronage of Officiating Principal Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri.
The event, coordinated by Prof. Pooja Dheman and Dr. Surita Sharma, aimed to showcase the talent and patriotic spirit of the students.The programme began with group dances, including two energetic performances — one by Nitish & Company (Boys’ Dance) and another by Monika & Company (Girls’ Dance). Group songs were presented by Shobha, Shikha, Hafiy, Muskan, Rajvansh, Khushi, Naseem, Kiran, Saba, Sonalika, Sumashlu, Priya, and Nishat, whose melodious voices captivated the audience.
Soulful solo songs by Zafar and Shobha, along with a graceful solo dance by Anu, added to the charm of the evening.The event was anchored by Sonalika, who kept the audience engaged throughout.Present on the occasion were Dr. Omar Habib, Prof. Irfan Ali, Prof. Norin Akhter, Prof. Baldev Singh,Prof Mumta Kundal, Prof. Rahil Dutta,Dr Pooja Bhagat, and NCC ANO Mr. Rakesh Kumar Meenia (Physical Director), whose guidance and encouragement contributed to the success of the celebrations.The day concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the values of unity, patriotism, and cultural pride that define the spirit of Independence Day.
