Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College Reasi successfully hosted a one-day inter-college symposium on the theme “Drug Abuse: Its Impact on Youth.” The event witnessed active
participation and engagement from four colleges—GDC Reasi, GDC Pouni, GDC Dharmari and GDC Katra—with three students representing each institution.The symposium commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Udhay Bhanu, setting the tone for the day. Dr. MohammadMuzammil Hussain graced the occasion as the chief guest and in his keynote address, he highlighted the grave consequences of drug abuse, especially its detrimental effects on the younger generation.The event featured insightful and impactful presentations from the
participating students. Prof. Balbir, Prof. Younis Saleem, and Prof. Anju served as the jury for the symposium, evaluating the performances and presentations of the participants.After careful deliberation, Shivani Charak from GDC Katra was awarded the first position, followed by Rohit
Kumar from GDC Reasi in the second position, and Komal Bhagat from GDC Pouni securing the third position.The program was hosted by Dr. Apfan Arif, Head of the Department of Urdu,
along with Pranvi Abrol, a student of GDC Reasi, who kept the audience engaged throughout the event.This meaningful initiative was organized by the NCORD Cell of GDC Reasi in collaboration with the NSS and NCC Units of the college.
The event was attended by all students and faculty members of the college, who appreciated the thoughtful efforts to spread awareness on such a significant issue. CNI
