Ground-level work is being done to Strengthen Security Grid on LOC

Srinagar, 20 February (CNI): The Union Home Ministry in its annual report said that steps are being taken at the ground level to eradicate militancy and infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the Home Ministry report, the current militancy in Jammu and Kashmir is due to cross-border infiltration, so special attention is being drawn to the border situation.

According to Current News of India (CNI), in the annual report of the year 2021-22, the Union Home Ministry said about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir that steps are being taken at the ground level to eradicate militancy in UT, adding that since militancy is flourishing in the Kashmir Valley due to pushing the militants towards this side through infiltration, special attention is being given to the borders in order to break it, including the deployment of military personnel on the LoC, deployment of additional personnel on designated infiltration routes, special vigilance on dangerous routes and deep trenches along the Line of Control is also being emphasized so that militants do not have an opportunity to come to this side, The report further states that funds have also been earmarked for the use of technology and human intelligence in border areas.

The report further states that for the sake of complete peace in the Kashmir valley, work has been done at the ground level, which is yielding fruitful results. He further said that the government is also trying to bring the local youth to the mainstream and provide them employment, adding that the government is taking steps at the ground level to keep the youth of Kashmir away from violence.

The Home Ministry report further states that the Jammu and Kashmir administration is working to bring the youth to the mainstream. He said that effective steps have been taken to provide all facilities to the people of all sections of Jammu and Kashmir and to provide them with everything. He further informed that all necessary steps are being taken to help and support the administration of Jammu and Kashmir.

He further said that all efforts are being made to strengthen the Jammu and Kashmir Police, adding that the budget for security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir has also been increased.

According to him, 936 crore rupees have been provided during the year 2021-22 to develop the Jammu and Kashmir Police on modern lines. He said that compared to the year 2017, there has been an extraordinary decrease in infiltration incidents in Jammu and Kashmir this year, adding that this year around 34 militants have managed to come to this side, and most of them have been shot down.

According to the report of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is being closely monitored and meetings are also being held between the security agencies on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir from time to time. According to the report, the central government has approved five RP battalions and two women’s battalions in Jammu and Kashmir along with equipping the security forces with new and advanced technology.
