Srinagar, July 12: The hacker responsible for breaching the digital infrastructure of Current News of India (CNI)— one of Jammu & Kashmir’s oldest independent news platforms — has finally been identified and caught. In a surprising revelation, the accused turned out to be a former member of the CNI team itself.CNI, which has been consistently serving as a credible news source since 2010, was temporarily thrown into digital chaos after its platform was maliciously hacked.
However, after a swift internal and technical investigation, the individual responsible for the attack was traced.Editor-in-Chief Bilal Bazaz, while confirming the
development, said,> “The hacker was once part of our own team. That’s why, despite the severity of the act, we decided not to publicly expose his identity. We believe in accountability, but also in giving people a chance to correct their
mistakes.”Although the hacker’s name has not been disclosed to the public, legal proceedings and internal actions are underway to ensure such a breach is never repeated.Bazaz added that the organization has taken serious steps to enhance the cybersecurity of its digital assets and will not tolerate any breach of trust in the future.“We
brought CNI back after a tough phase. Our team stood united, and our priority remains ethical journalism and public trust,” he said.CNI thanked its readers and followers for their patience and reaffirmed its commitment to truth, transparency, and press integrity.
