Heat wave, Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, avoiding direct exposure to the sun: DHSK

Srinagar, CNI: The health authorities in Kashmir have urged people to avoid unnecessary outings and stay hydrated in this heatwave.

 

As per news agency Current News of India (CNI) Director of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr Mushtaq Rather, while talking to reporters said that the temperatures are soaring above normal levels and people need to take proper precautionary measures to avoid heat-related illnesses. He said that people need to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, avoiding direct exposure to the sun during peak hours (10 AM to 4 PM), and wearing loose, light-colored clothing.

Meanwhile, The DHSK also advises limiting outdoor activities and ensuring vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and young children, are protected from the heat.

At the same time Health facilities across Kashmir have been instructed to be on high alert and prepared to handle cases of heatstroke and dehydration, he said. The DHSK has also urged people to look out for symptoms such as dizziness, headache, nausea, and rapid heartbeat, and to seek immediate medical attention if any of these symptoms CNI
