Bandipora: The Gurez Valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has finally received electricity, marking a historic moment as it is the first time since India gained Independence.
The accomplishment was officially announced by the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL).
As per the News Agency Current News of India (CNI) Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, took to the social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, to share the news.
His tweet emphasized the magnitude of this achievement for Gurez, stating, Historic day for Gurez! Grid connectivity reached the pristine valley for the first time after the country’s independence.”
The key milestone was the energization of the 33/11kV Receiving Station today, bringing light to approximately 1500 consumers across various Panchayats in the region.
Furthermore, ongoing efforts are in progress to extend this connectivity to all the villages in a phased manner, underscoring a commitment to comprehensive electrification in the valley.(CNI) Current News of India
