On behalf of the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), the representative organization of the displaced and victimized Kashmiri Pandit community, we once again approach you with folded hands and a heavy heart to draw your compassionate attention to the severe and continuing hardships faced by Kashmiri migrant relief holders residing in the Delhi–NCR region.
Sir, this is our third earnest and respectful representation to the Ministry regarding the non-release of relief amounts pending for nearly the last eighteen months. The prolonged withholding of this already meagre relief has pushed hundreds of displaced families into unbearable financial distress and deep uncertainty. For families with no alternate or dependable source of income, this delay has not merely caused inconvenience, it has shattered their last fragile support system and sense of security.
With profound pain and anguish, we submit that many of these victim families are today struggling to meet even the bare minimum necessities of life.
The continuing financial crunch has gravely affected the education of school-going children, several of whom stand on the verge of dropping out due to unpaid school fees and associated expenses. Many families are living in constant anxiety, helplessness, and despair, feeling abandoned and left solely at the mercy of God.
Sir, the situation on the health front is equally distressing. Due to the acute shortage of funds, relief holders are unable to afford essential medicines or timely medical care for their elderly members and ailing parents. Chronic illnesses remain untreated, routine medical consultations have become unaffordable, and silent suffering, both physical and psychological, has become an everyday reality for these families.
Sir, we further make a heartfelt appeal to the Ministry to take a humane and realistic view regarding the enhancement of monthly relief, which has regrettably not been revised since 2018. In an era of relentless inflation and sharply escalating costs of food, rent, education, healthcare, and other basic needs, the existing relief amount has lost all relevance and purchasing power. It has become grossly inadequate for survival, particularly in high-cost urban regions like Delhi–NCR.
Sir, the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community is a peace-loving, law-abiding, and deeply nationalistic community that has endured over three decades of forced exile, loss, and neglect with remarkable patience and dignity. Continued administrative delays and financial deprivation only deepen their pain and sense of injustice, an injustice that this suffering community neither invited nor deserved.
The Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), as the representative voice of displaced Kashmiri Pandit relief holders in Delhi–NCR, therefore makes a strong, sincere, and urgent appeal for the immediate release of all pending relief arrears, along with a substantial enhancement of the monthly relief in tune with present-day economic realities.
Sir, your timely and compassionate intervention will not only provide much-needed financial relief but will also restore faith, dignity, and confidence among a deeply wounded community that continues to look towards the Government of India with unwavering hope and trust.
Sir, we earnestly hope that this humble representation will receive your urgent and sympathetic consideration and that prompt action will be taken to mitigate the unbearable suffering of these displaced families.
With deepest respect and hopeful anticipation,
Yours sincerely.
