Due to a technical snag, an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft with six people on board made a “emergency” landing at a village near Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday, according to reports.
Inspector Narendra Kulaste of the Berasia police station, who was on the scene, informed leading news agency PTI over the phone that the pilot and the five other crew members are safe.
According to him, the event happened at 8:45 am.
According to him, the IAF’s III HU unit aircraft conducted the “emergency” landing in a field of sugarcane close to a lake in the village of Dungariya, around 60 km from the Bhopal district headquarters.
The official claimed that a technical issue occurred as the aircraft was its route from Bhopal to Jhansi.
IAF personnel have arrived at the location to address the technical issue. He added that a second team of technicians was on its way from Nagpur to the village of Dungariya.
