Inauguration of e-Seva Kendra and Litigants’ Facility by Hon’ble the Chief Justice in District Ganderbal/ In an important event, Hon’ble the Chief Justice High Court of J&K and Ladakh accompanied by Hon’ble Justice Javid Iqbal, Judge High Court of J&K and Ladakh (Administrative Judge of District Ganderbal) inaugurated the Litigants’ friendly public

access booth known as e-Seva Kendra and also one Litigants’ Facility(waiting facility) and dedicated the same to the general public, apart from monitoring the on-going proceedings of National Lok Adalat. Hon’ble the Chief Justice on his arrival in the Court premises of District Ganderbal was accorded a warm welcome and a special Guard of Honor was presented by Jammu and Kashmir Police of District Ganderbal. The Judicial Officers of the District Ganderbal alongwith Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shayimbir, Senior Superintendent of Police,

Ganderbal, Sandeep Gupta and members of the Ganderbal Bar Association warmly welcomed and felicitated their Lordships for visiting District Court Ganderbal and reaching out to address the common problems faced by the Litigants, general public, lawyers, and the staff manning affairs of the court. Hon’ble the Chief Justice, N. Kotiswar Singh first inaugurated the Litigants’ Facility and interacted with public on the spot and also passed certain directions to make further improvements in such Facility, to make it democratic and accessible to general public irrespective of their physical condition.

Hon’ble the Chief Justice dedicated this Litigants’ facility to the general public and ensured that in near future better facilities would come up to address the grievances of the public. Hon’ble the Chief Justice directed District Administration as well as Registry of Hon’ble High Court to ensure that necessary steps are taken to undertake construction of New Court Complex in the land already earmarked for District Judiciary. e-Seva Kendra which provides various online services to litigants, lawyers and general public has also been inaugurated in District Court Complex, Ganderbal by Hon’ble the Chief Justice and Administrative Judge.

To Kick start the e-Seva Kendra, family members of some litigants were connected through e-Seva Kendra and their e-Mulakat was arranged through this facility from remote end of District Jail Varanasi where one of the accused persons has been kept in Judicial Custody. Hon’ble the Chief Justice, while monitoring e-Mulakat of the litigants, appreciated the District Judiciary for achieving such a milestone. Further, certain instructions were passed to expand the horizon of e-Seva Kendra facility provided under e-Seva Kendra to make it more user friendly to cover thee needs of common masses.

Proceeding further, their Lordships inspected and monitored various Benches constituted for conducting National Lok Adalat and also interacted with various parties to the litigations. While inspecting the proceedings in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ganderbal, their Lordships settled 4 Matrimonial Cases and highlighted the importance of tolerance, trust and faith, love and affection and mutual forbearance amongst couples for sustainability of good matrimonial relations.

On this occasion, their Lordships appreciated the efforts of Bar and Bench in properly addressing the social problem in a sympathetic and humane manner. Instructions were passed by Lordships to conduct trial of matrimonial cases in camera to maintain privacy in matrimonial relations entangled in litigations before the courts.
Emphasizing upon the importance of National Lok Adalat and amicable settlements through Lok Adalat, Hon’ble the Chief Justice impressed upon the public as well as lawyers to take due advantage of ADRs as it is cost effective and time saving and it restores the impaired relations.

Their Lordships were accompanied by M.K Sharma, Principal Secretary to Hon’ble the Chief Justice, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, OSD to Hon’ble the Chief Justice and Registrar Judicial High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Abdul Bari, Joint Registrar (Judicial) High Court of J&K and Ladakh.

Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi ,who is also holding the charge of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Ganderbal apprised their Lordships about the various problems and on-going projects.

Mainaaz Qadir, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Ganderbal, Waseem Mirza, Munsiff Ganderbal also participated in the event. At the end, Hon’ble the Chief Justice alongwith Administrative Judge took stock of the infrastructural issues and passed necessary directions. Besides, they also interacted with the members of the Bar Association and staff members of the Judiciary.
