Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday termed the recently concluded trade agreement between India and the European Union as a historic milestone, saying it will inject fresh momentum into the country’s economy and open vast opportunities for growth.Addressing a gathering in Jalandhar, as pwr news agency cni Prime Minister Modi said, “Another historic step has been taken to infuse new energy into the nation’s economy. An agreement has been reached on a trade deal between India and the European Union, which the world is calling the ‘Mother of all deals’.”He said the agreement is being widely discussed across the globe and will significantly enhance trade relations between India and 27 European nations. “After this trade deal, our trade with 27 European countries will flourish greatly,” he added.Highlighting Punjab’s role, the Prime Minister said the state’s skilled youth stand to benefit immensely from the agreement. “Punjab is known for its skilled workforce, and this trade deal will bring immense benefits to our brothers and sisters here,” he said.Referring to the strong textile base of the state, PM Modi said cities like Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Amritsar are deeply linked to the textile industry. “Millions of people are connected to the textile sector here, and now Punjab’s textile industry will get access to new and larger global markets,” he said.
