Iran’s military says operation “ended”, warns US, Israel against future attacks

New Delhi, (CNI Monitoring): Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Sardar Baqeri, has said that the military operation against Israel has been “ended” by Tehran, issuing a statement that if the US and Israel Assists with possible next steps. According to CNN, their bases will have “no security”, and will be dealt with.

 

“Israel’s actions were condemned in the consulate, so there should have been a response,” Bagheri said.

 

He also noted that, although the operation has been completed, Iranian forces remain on high alert.

 

Iranian officials have made it clear that this weekend’s attacks were retaliation for an April 1 Israeli attack that destroyed the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

 

Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack, which Iran claims killed several officials, including Revolutionary Guard commander Mohammad Reza Zahidi.

 

After the attack on Israel, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that a “new equation” had been created. As a result, Iran will immediately respond to any Israeli attack on its interests, resources or civilians, he said.

 

CNN quoted the Islamic commander as saying, “We have decided to create a new equation, which is that if from now on the Zionist regime attacks our interests, assets, personalities and citizens anywhere and at any time. If so, we will take retaliatory action against them.” Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Hossein Salami told Iran’s state TV

 

“Operation Faithful Promise is a prominent and clear example of this new equation,” Salami said.

 

Meanwhile, Iraq said it had reopened its airspace after being temporarily closed overnight during attacks on Israel.

 

According to CNN as per news agency Current News Of India, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority said on Sunday that the decision came after the “successful mitigation of all threats” that had previously affected the security and safety of civil aviation in Iraq.

 

As a precaution, the airspace was blocked on Saturday night after a detailed risk assessment by Iraqi authorities.

 

Iran fired more than 200 missiles at Israel in response to an attack on its consulate in Syria on Saturday.

 

With the latest escalation between Iran and the West, the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday issued a travel advisory for Indian nationals asking them to avoid traveling to the two countries until further notice.

 

Earlier today, US President Joe Biden condemned Iran’s attack on Israeli soil, adding that he would convene a meeting of G7 leaders on Monday to coordinate a joint diplomatic response.

 

“Earlier today, Iran and its proxies operating out of Yemen, Syria and Iraq launched an unprecedented airstrike against military installations in Israel. I condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms,” the White House said. Biden said, according to the statement.

 

US President Biden also held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and reiterated America’s “ironclad” commitment to Israel’s security.
