In a first, Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat (IPS), visited the remote Rajwar forest area in Zachaldara, Handwara — a region known for its tough terrain and strategic importance.
This rare visit by a top police official was aimed at encouraging and motivating the Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel who operate in these difficult forest zones of North Kashmir.
The DGP personally interacted with the SOG jawans, listening to their experiences of working in deep, hilly forests. He praised their dedication and emphasized the need for continuous training in modern jungle warfare tactics.
Addressing the officers and personnel, the DGP said that operating in such regions requires strong endurance, sharp awareness, and quick adaptability. He stressed that knowing the terrain well gives a big advantage in stopping terrorists from gaining ground.
He urged the teams to deepen their knowledge of the local geography to stay one step ahead in any operation.
The SOG personnel welcomed the visit warmly, calling it a huge morale booster. They appreciated the DGP’s direct engagement and his message of support from the top leadership.
