Jammu and Kashmir United Movement (JKUM) President and former MLA from Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar has expressed deep concern over the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel. In a statement issued on Friday, he appealed to world’s top leaders to take immediate steps to end the war in order to protect innocent lives and prevent the large-scale destruction of property.

Highlighting the potential threat to Indian nationals residing in Iran, he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to ensure the safety of Indian students and others currently in the region. He called for swift evacuation measures to bring them back to India safely.

“The international community must act swiftly to de-escalate tensions and prevent further human suffering. At the same time, the Government of India must prioritize the safety of its citizens abroad,” he said.(CNI)
