Security personnel have begun a search operation in the Kalakote neighbourhood of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, according to the officials on Wednesday.

Following specific intelligence regarding the movement of some unidentified individuals that the Jammu and Kashmir Police had received, the Indian Army, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force conducted a coordinated operation in the area.

After a confrontation between terrorists and security personnel occurred on Monday night in the forest area of Kalakote, the search operation got underway. According to earlier PRO Defence Jammu sources, the area is undergoing intense operations to neutralise the insurgents.
