Jammu : The Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) urgently calls for an immediate investigation into the voting irregularities that occurred on May 25, 2024, in village Ranipora, Anantnag, Kashmir. Non-migrant Kashmiri Pandit voters were unjustly barred from casting their ballots under the pretext that Form-13 had been submitted for their votes, transferring them to the KP migrant voting list in Jammu.

This disturbing practice seems to have resurfaced at Polling Station 80 in Ranipora, Achbal, Anantnag, where Kashmiri Pandit families, who have steadfastly remained in their village despite the height of terrorism, were denied their right to vote. They were falsely informed that Form-13 had been submitted on their behalf, categorizing them as migrant voters required to vote in Jammu.

Mr.Manu Ji Kachroo, a voter from village Ranipora, Anantnag, expressed his great concern and frustration, questioning how they could be expected to vote in Jammu when they have consistently voted in Ranipora, Anantnag. These individuals are not displaced; they are non-migrant residents with a legitimate right to vote in their local polling station.

The affected families, comprising ten households with fifty registered voters, have called for a thorough investigation into this voting fraud. They assert that none of them filled out Form-13 to be listed as migrant voters. This situation represents a blatant manipulation by political parties and their agents, exploiting the sentiments of the Kashmiri Pandit community.

As the representative body of the Kashmiri Pandits, the KPC appeals to the Chief Election Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir and the Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag to investigate this matter urgently. The organization demands justice for these KP voters and calls for those responsible for this fraudulent act and other such fraud acts if any, to be held accountable under the law.CNI
