“Very important for all KP,s”
By Kundan Kashmiri,
The time has come for the Kashmiri Pandit community to stop, reflect, and deeply peep inside. After thirty-five years of exile, suffering, and struggle, we must examine our direction, our unity, our purpose, and priorities. We must ask ourselves—are we continuing the path of justice with dignity, or are we slowly surrendering to illusions and distractions that weaken our cause?
Our exodus is not just history, it is a still-bleeding wound. We were driven out of our ancestors land by terrorism, hate, and betrayal. We lived in tents, camps, and corners of India, abandoned and ignored, but survived with resilience and patriotism. Yet today, we must confront a disturbing truth: are we now losing the clarity and determination that once defined our struggle?
A growing section of our community is becoming passive. Symbolic gestures are being mistaken for real achievements. Some have begun to associate with campaigns and individuals that neither represent us nor understand our pain. We must ask have we become silent spectators? Are we now submitting our identity and future to those who once ignored or opposed our existence?
Is it proper to consider returning to the Valley simply on the call of someone who never stood with us, never shared our pain, and has no stake in our long exile? How can any conscious Kashmiri Pandit submit written consent to return under the leadership of such individuals? What is their background, their credibility? Many of them were closely associated with the very political forces responsible for our destruction and displacement. What authority do they have to carry forward any campaign in our name?
Why is the Relief Commissioner or any constitutional authority not leading this process, if the government truly intends to rehabilitate us with dignity? Why is this sensitive issue being handled by unauthorized, self-styled actors? It is alarming that such campaigns are being promoted without transparency, without safeguards, and without involving the legitimate voice of the community.
We, the displaced Kashmiri Pandits, must peep inside and introspect. We cannot allow ourselves to be misled by unreliable individuals or get swept away by public stunts. Our return, if it is ever to happen, must be based on constitutional guarantees, full security, and complete rehabilitation led by the Indian State, not private actors or political proxies. Anything less is betrayal.
Another area of serious concern is our growing internal disunity. Over the years, our voice has become fragmented. Petty ego battles and lack of coordination among our organizations have weakened our collective strength. We must abandon one-upmanship and personal ambitions. A united voice is our only power in this prolonged struggle.
Leadership must emerge from commitment and integrity, not from hidden deals or political handshakes. True representatives must be visible among the community, accountable to the displaced masses, and uncompromising in defending our dignity not collaborating with the very forces that once celebrated our exile.
Our saner forces, well to do persons ,thinkers, community activist, must awaken and become torchbearers of our community and identity.
The core of our return is not just land it is honour, identity, and survival. Our just and long-standing demand for a separate Kashyap Bhoomi ( one place settlement) within Kashmir with writ of Indian constitution, constitutional protection, and full security is not extreme. It is a reasonable and essential safeguard. Anything less will repeat past disasters.
Let us not be used again. Let us not become bargaining chips in political games. It is time for a new movement—one of introspection, awareness, and disciplined resistance. We must rise, united and clear in our purpose. We are not victims, we are resilient carriers of a civilization.
To peep inside is not a sign of weakness, it is the strength to refine our path and reinforce our values. Let every Kashmiri Pandit look within and rise for truth and justice. This is our responsibility, and our mission.
