The Kashmiri Pandit community’s reaction to the BJP manifesto, or lack thereof, is one of deep disappointment and frustration. For decades, they have endured displacement, uncertainty, and a sense of abandonment. The promise of rehabilitation made in 2014 seemed to offer a glimmer of hope, but the reality has been starkly different.

To have their plight completely ignored in the manifesto, especially after years of waiting for justice and restoration, is a cruel blow. It’s not just about political promises; it’s about the fundamental right to return to their homeland with dignity and security.

The absence of any mention of displaced Kashmiri Pandits raises questions about the priorities and commitments of the BJP towards this community. How can bullet trains and other infrastructure projects take precedence over addressing the pressing needs of a community that has suffered immensely?

The Kashmiri Pandits aren’t asking for handouts; they’re demanding what is rightfully theirs – a chance to rebuild their lives in their ancestral land. The lack of acknowledgment in the manifesto only amplifies their sense of marginalization and neglect.

It’s not just about physical displacement; it’s about the erosion of identity, culture, and heritage. The longer the delay in addressing their grievances, the deeper the scars become, both individually and collectively.

The Kashmiri Pandit community isn’t just looking for sympathy; they’re demanding action. They need concrete plans for rehabilitation, restitution, and ensuring their safety upon return. They need assurance that their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed.

It’s time for the BJP, and indeed all political parties, to recognize the urgency of the Kashmiri Pandit issue. It’s not enough to pay lip service or make empty promises during election campaigns. Tangible steps need to be taken to ensure the rehabilitation and integration of the displaced community.

The Kashmiri Pandits have waited too long, endured too much, to be sidelined once again. Their resilience in the face of adversity is commendable, but it should not be taken as a sign of complacency. They deserve justice, and they will continue to demand it until their voices are heard and their rights are restored.
