Urges swift action on deportation of illegal Pakistani nationals

Udhampur, (CNI): Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today led a strong protest in Udhampur against the continued illegal stay of Pakistani nationals in India. The protest was organized to demand their immediate identification and deportation in light of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 innocent lives.
Speaking to media persons, senior BJP leader strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, calling it a brutal assault on innocent lives that has shaken the entire nation. He said such incidents highlight the urgent need to tighten internal security and act decisively against any elements that pose a threat.
Referring to the presence of Pakistani nationals without valid documents, Kavinder emphasized that this is a grave national security concern. “The country is going through a critical phase, and we cannot afford any laxity. Illegal residents must be identified and deported immediately,” he asserted.
Kavinder further urged the local administration to act swiftly in line with the directives issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, which has already initiated measures for the cancellation of visas and deportation of Pakistani nationals. He said the people of Jammu & Kashmir have suffered enough due to cross-border terrorism, and it is the government’s responsibility to ensure their safety by eliminating all potential threats. He called upon citizens to remain vigilant and support the administration in identifying illegal foreigners. “National security is paramount, and no compromise can be tolerated in this regard,” he added.
Following the protest, Kavinder Gupta along with senior BJP leaders and party workers submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, urging immediate action in accordance with the recent order of the Ministry of Home Affairs dated April 25, 2025.
The memorandum emphasized the urgent need to identify Pakistani nationals living without valid documents or with expired visas in the district and initiate legal proceedings under the Foreigners Act, 1946. It also called for swift and decisive action by the local administration to reassure the public and uphold national security.
Prominent leaders who joined the protest included District BJP President Arun Gupta, former Minister and MLA Pawan Gupta, MLA R.S. Pathania, Sunil Bharadwaj, MLA Balwant Mankotia, and several other party workers and local leaders.(CNI)
