Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister expressed his disappointment over CM Omar Abdullah’s remarks, stating that they undermine India’s longstanding and unified position on PoK. He emphasized that PoK has been, and will always remain, an integral part of India, illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947. The Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has consistently reiterated its commitment to reclaiming these territories.
“It is disheartening to hear a Chief Minister question the nation’s resolve on such a critical issue. Instead of aligning with the national interest, Omar Abdullah’s statements appear to provide fodder to adversarial narratives,” he added.
The senior BJP leader was speaking after interacting with a Sikh deputation headed by Ranjod Singh Nalwa, Convener Minority Morcha BJP, J&K.
Addressing the reference to territories under Chinese control, Kavinder highlighted that the government has been unequivocal in its approach towards any encroachments on Indian soil. He cited recent infrastructure developments and strategic deployments in border areas as evidence of India’s proactive measures to safeguard its sovereignty.
Kavinder further urged leaders across the political spectrum to exhibit unity and refrain from making statements that could be misconstrued or exploited by hostile entities. “At a time when our brave armed forces are valiantly defending our borders, it is imperative for political leaders to stand together and project a cohesive front,” he added.
The former deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed the BJP’s unwavering commitment to the nation’s territorial integrity and called upon all citizens to support the Central Government’s efforts in reclaiming and securing every inch of India’s land.
