Kokernag/ Anantnag, – CNI :-
The scenic Kokernag region in South Kashmir is poised for a major transformation in its tourism sector, as officials intensify efforts to upgrade infrastructure and enhance visitor experience under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Mohd Rouf Rahman (JKAS), CEO of Kokernag Development Authority (KDA).
Developmental activities are in full swing, even on Sundays, as teams from the KDA work diligently across key tourist destinations including Chatapal, Dandipora, Achabal, Kokernag, and Daksum. Employees and officials are reportedly on “tenterhooks” to ensure the timely execution of beautification and infrastructural upgrades in parks, gardens, and recreational spots.
Aesthetic improvements are being prioritized, with a special focus on giving a facelift to signage boards, including those at the CEO’s office and on tourist huts maintained by KDA. This initiative aims to ease navigation for tourists and provide better identification of key locations and facilities.
Locals and stakeholders have welcomed these developments as a “well-begun” initiative that promises significant dividends for the tourism-driven economy of the area. With such committed leadership and ground-level execution, Kokernag is expected to emerge as a more organized and appealing destination for visitors in the coming months.(CNI)
