The Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), representing the sentiments of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community, strongly condemns the vile and unjustified online abuse being directed at Foreign Secretary Shri Vikram Misri and his family, following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.
In a statement issued today, KPC President Shri Kundan Kashmiri said:
“Shri Vikram Misri is a committed, capable, and honest diplomat who has always served the nation with integrity and professionalism. He was carrying out his official responsibilities based on the directions of the elected Government of India. To single him out and abuse him personally for a national-level policy decision is unjust, unacceptable, and deeply unfortunate.”
The KPC expressed deep concern over the targeting of Shri Misri’s family, especially his daughter, for her independent humanitarian work. The organization termed it a “new low” and called such personal attacks on civil servants and their families “completely unethical and un-Indian.”
“We, as a community that has endured suffering, displacement, and injustice for over three decades, understand the value of truth, service, and national duty. Shri Misri represents all that is noble in public service. The Kashmiri Pandit community stands with him and salutes his courage and commitment,” Kundan Kashmiri added.
The KPC urged citizens to reject toxic narratives and stand by those who serve India with honesty and dignity. The organization also appealed to the Government of India to ensure that senior officers and their families are safeguarded from targeted harassment and abusive campaigns.
The KPC reaffirmed its solidarity with Shri Vikram Misri and expressed full confidence in his continued service to the nation.
