Baramulla 01 March (CNI) : The residents of Bhagwanpora Singhpora in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district protest against Power Development Department and blocked Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway which halted the traffic movement in morning hours.
According to news agency Current News of India (CNI), the inhabitants of Bhagwanpora blocked national highway at singhpora early morning at around 09:00am and chanted slogans against PDD. Locals alleged that the electricity transformer was sent for repairing months ago but was not returned so far.
Sources told CNI that hundreds of employees and students could not reach their destinations as they got stuck in traffic jam.
Soon after on the assurance of SDM Pattan the protesters were dispersed peacefully. DO police post Mirgund Mohamad Ashraf along with his team made the national Highway through.
Meanwhile, AEE PDD Pattan told CNI that the repaired electric transformer will be provided to the area today. (CNI)
