According to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Ministry of Railways has authorised a survey of the rail line for the north Kashmir area and Kupwara will be connected to the rail network.

According to reports, the LG responded to a question on the rail connectivity to Kupwara on the second day of his tour there by saying, “The railway ministry has sanctioned a survey of rail line for Kupwara district.

He claimed that careful planning had led to a large rise in the number of tourists visiting the area, and he gave the delegations his word that their legitimate complaints would be addressed in a timely manner.
