Srinagar-Leh highway repon after eight days
After remaining closed for continuous eight days, traffic was resumed on 434 -km-long Srinagar-Leh highway.
Hundreds of passenger vehicles and trucks were stranded on the highway due to heavy snowfall last week.
An official told CNI that stranded vehicles in different areas of Drass, Meenmarg, Kargil and Leh mostly carrying passengers, tourists and Srinagar bound empty trucks were allowed to move towards Sonamarg .
He said the decision to allow traffic from Ganderbal to Ladakh region will be taken only after all stranded vehicles are cleared and if weather will be pleasant.
