Ganderbal,cni: In a shocking incident, a large quantity of medicines worth several lakhs was found dumped in a forest canal in the Gundrehman area of Ganderbal district on Saturday.

Locals, who first spotted the medicines strewn across the canal, immediately informed the authorities. Soon after, officials from the Drug Control Department Ganderbal rushed to the spot and inspected the scene.

An official from the department, while speaking to the media, confirmed the recovery and said, “We are investigating the matter. Samples have been taken and the source of these medicines is being traced. Strict action will be taken against those responsible.”

The dumping of medicines not only raises questions about accountability and proper disposal protocols but also poses serious environmental and public health risks.
