Militancy Incidents Drastically Reduced after the Abrogation of Article 370, BJP government at the centre fulfilled all its promises to the people: Amit Shah

Srinagar, 11 February (CNI): Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday claimed that after the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, there has been a drastic reduction in the incidents of militancy, adding that peace has been established by resolving border disputes with North-Eastern states and through development works and development there and there has begun a new era of development, the BJP government at the Centre has fulfilled all its promises to the people in last eight years.

According to the News agency Current News of India (CNI) Monitoring Desk, while addressing the passing out parade of the 74th batch of probationers of the Indian Police Service at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Home Minister Amit Shah said that the central government achieved considerable success in controlling insurgency and left-wing extremism in the Northeast. He said that the police force conducted operations across the country under the leadership of Indian government agencies.  A successful operation against the organization ‘Popular Front of India’ was carried out in a single day.

He asked the IPS probationers to secure the country’s economic hubs, and protect the human rights of the poor, a new approach is needed to make investigations evidence-based and focus on cyber and financial frauds besides curbing drug-terrorist links.

 Shah said that if you look at the internal security situation of eight years, Jammu and Kashmir, North East and Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas were the three hotspots, he said that after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, there has been a drastic reduction in incidents of militancy.

Adding that More than 8,000 cadres were mainstreamed following peace accords with several militant outfits in the Northeast and by resolving border disputes with states and through development works, peace was established in the Northeast and a new era of development began there.

The Home Minister said that the top leadership of the Maoists had been brought under control and the number of LWE-affected districts had reduced to 46 from 96 in 2010. Shah said, “After eight years, The government has been largely successful in controlling militancy insurgency and left-wing extremism in the North East.

He said “We have set a successful example to the world by banning the Popular Front of India recently,” This shows how strong and mature our commitment to democracy has become. He further said that due to zero tolerance against terrorism, a strong framework of anti-terrorism laws and the strengthening of agencies, incidents related to terrorism have decreased. (CNI)
