KARACHI, (CNI MONITERING ): At least 11 people, including nine bus passengers, were killed in an attack by unidentified militants in Pakistan’s restive Baluchistan province, officials said on Saturday.
In the first incident, gunmen stopped a bus on the highway in Nushki district and abducted nine people at gunpoint on Friday, police said.
“The bodies of the nine persons were later found with bullet wounds in the nearby hills near a bridge,” an official said.
He further said that the bus was going from Quetta to Taftan when the armed men stopped it and after identifying the passengers, they took nine people to the hilly areas.
In a separate incident, a car was fired upon on the same highway, killing two passengers and injuring two others.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the terrorists involved in the killing of 11 people on Nushki Highway will not be forgiven and they will be hunted down soon.
Bugti said that the terrorists involved in the attacks would be hunted down, adding that their aim was to sabotage the peace of Balochistan.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the incident and said that the government is standing with the families of the deceased.
He further said that there is no room for such a tragic incident.
No outlawed organization has claimed responsibility for the killings, but in the recent weeks of this year, there has been an increase in terrorist attacks by outlawed organizations and terrorists in the province, in which security forces and installations have also been brazenly targeted.
The outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed that it has carried out three major terrorist attacks in the province in recent weeks on Mach Town, Gwadar Port and a naval base in Turbat, in which security forces have killed around 17 militants. (CNI MONITERING)
