Naushera Day was celebrated with due solemnity and patriotic fervour on 06 February 2026 at Naushera, district Rajouri, marking the historic occasion when the Battle of Naushera was fought and Naushera was successfully defended. This decisive action paved the way for the subsequent recapture of Jhanghar from the enemy, a defining moment in the region’s military history.Maj Gen Kaushik Mukherjee, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division, graced the occasion alongwith senior officials from civil administration and J&K Police. The day’s events commenced with the GOC laying a wreath at Veer Bhoomi, paying homage and solemn respect to the fallen bravehearts. This was followed by a vibrant cultural programme in which children from local schools participated with great patriotic zeal, showcasing songs, dances and performances that reflected national pride.As part of the celebrations, the GOC felicitated Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, special achievers & school children acknowledging their enduring contribution, sacrifice and role in preserving the legacy of Naushera. Addressing the gathering, the GOC highlighted the pivotal role of the youth in nation building and emphasised the importance of community participation in safeguarding the nation.
