Badugam–Tulail area along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Tulail Sector. The programme was conducted with the objective of commemorating the life and teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and spreading awareness among the local population, especially the youth, about his timeless message of courage, sacrifice, equality and selfless service.
The event witnessed active participation from local villagers, elders, teachers, students and representatives of the civil community. Army personnel interacted closely with the attendees and highlighted the historical significance of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, who stood as a symbol of righteousness, unity and resistance against injustice. His teachings continue to inspire generations to uphold moral values, social harmony and national integration.
During the programme, emphasis was laid on the importance of education, discipline and mutual respect in today’s society. The soldiers also spoke about the need for youth to stay focused on positive goals, shun social evils and contribute constructively towards peace and development in the region. Interactive sessions were held to encourage dialogue, allowing locals to share their views and concerns in an open and friendly environment.
The awareness programme was part of the Indian Army’s continued efforts to strengthen the bond of trust and cooperation with the people living in remote and border areas. Such initiatives aim to promote goodwill, foster unity and ensure that the values of peace, brotherhood and patriotism reach every corner of the nation, including the far-flung regions along the Line of Control.
The local population appreciated the initiative taken by the Neru Battalion and expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for consistently engaging with the community and organising meaningful programmes that celebrate national icons and promote social awareness.
