Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road, Transport, and Highways, said on Saturday that the 250-meter viaduct of the Maroge tunnel in the Ramban district, which would offer a different path around a slide-prone area, had been finished.

According to a post by Gadkari on X, the Maroge Tunnel’s construction of a 250-meter viaduct and 395-meter tunnel, at an estimated cost of Rs 82 Crores, was successfully finished.

This infrastructure is situated along the NH-44 from Ramban to Banihal. The 645-meter segment, which is a part of the bigger project, “provides an alternative route bypassing the difficult Sita Ram Pass slide area in addition to reducing the travel distance by 200 metres, consequently mitigating steep gradients,” he said.
