"Kashmir Watcher"
It is high time the nation sees through the hollow cries and double standards of parties like the National Conference (NC), which now raise alarm over the “delay” in the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Let it be said without any hesitation: Statehood is not an inherited right of those who failed the people, it is a privilege that must be earned through peace, accountability, and allegiance to national interests.
Nation Conference (NC ) under the dynastic rule of the Abdullah family, has done irreparable damage to the social, political, and security fabric of Jammu and Kashmir. From soft-separatist policies, appeasement of radical elements, and ignoring the plight of Kashmiri Pandits, to providing shelter to anti-national ideologies, the NC government, both in the past and in the recent past, has functioned as a proxy of elements that wish to keep Kashmir bleeding for political gain.
Let the nation remember how, under NC’s rule, terrorism took deep roots, Kashmiri Pandits were, massacreed and hounded out, and Jammu and Kashmir became a breeding ground for Pakistan-backed propaganda. Instead of taking decisive actions, the NC governments at various points allowed secessionist voices to flourish, sidelining nationalists, and suppressing those who raised their voice for India.
Today, Omar Abdullah and his allies pretend to be the victims of political injustice. But the truth is that they are uncomfortable with the peace and stability that has returned to Kashmir under the present government. What they cannot digest is that under the Modi government, development is reaching the ground level without the need for their corrupt, middleman-style politics. Their obsession with power is so intense that they do not hesitate to challenge the constitutional authority of the center Government and Lieutenant Governor, ,who acts within the full scope of the Constitution as the administrator of the Union Territory.
For these politicians, statehood is not about the people, it is about regaining lost control, lost contracts, and lost corruption avenues. They want to reverse the gains of peace and transparency brought by the abrogation of Article 370, and re-establish their old power structures, even if it means risking another round of bloodshed in the Valley.
The Kashmiri Pandit community, which continues to live in forced exile for over three decades, knows the cost of NC’s misrule. We remember how they ignored our genocide, refused to act on our rehabilitation, and actively opposed our legitimate demand for one-place settlement in the Valley. Even today, leaders of these parties remain silent on radicalism, they did brought one place settlement bill, temple and shrine bill and other issues in the JK Assembly, but loud on statehood proving once again that their politics is not for peace but for personal and party gain and personal centric.
We strongly assert that no restoration of statehood must be considered until:
Terrorism is fully eradicated from Jammu and Kashmir.
Radical infrastructure is dismantled and separatist networks are destroyed.
A dignified, secure, one-place rehabilitation of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community is achieved.
Parties like NC, PDP and their anti-national collaborators are held accountable for their past crimes.
Let us not forget: It took India seventy years to abrogate Article 370. If required, it can take another seventy to restore statehood, but it must be done only when peace is permanent, terror is eliminated, and those responsible for the past bloodshed are exposed and punished.and above till “one place settlement” of Kashmiri pandits at the land of Kashyap in Kashmir valley is fully ensured and practically established.
As nationalist forces and representatives of the victim Kashmiri Pandit community, we say it with full conviction, NC, PDP, and like-minded groups are no different from Pakistan proxies. Their intentions remain suspect, and their role in spreading anti-India narratives is well documented. They must not be allowed to derail the future of Jammu and Kashmir again.
The people of India must support a strong, united, terrorism-free, and transparently governed Jammu and Kashmir not a return to dynastic regimes that thrive on division, dependency, and deceit.
Hence as staunch nationalists and arbiginies of Kashmir we recommend no statehood to be restored to Jammu and Kashmir till reasons mentioned as above.
