Chief Minister Omar Abdullah spent a busy day at the Raabita Public Outreach Office, meeting multiple delegations and listening to issues related to development, public welfare, education, and tourism.
A team led by Dr. Mohd. Jaffar Akhoon, Chief Executive Councillor from Kargil, shared the problems faced by students and patients from Ladakh, especially Kargil, in institutions across Jammu and Kashmir. They also raised civic issues faced by Ladakh residents living in the UT and requested the CM’s help in solving them quickly.
Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) in Rajouri, updated the CM about the university’s work and plans. He sought support for improving higher education in the region.
Sandeep Sharma, Zonal Head of ICICI Bank, spoke about the bank’s CSR efforts. He mentioned the bank’s recent donation of a rescue vehicle for Dachigam and other community-focused initiatives, including job creation.
Brigadier Deepak Sajjan Har from NCC, Srinagar, met the CM to present a memento for the upcoming NCC Everest Expedition–2025. He praised the dedication of NCC cadets and their role in promoting national pride and adventure.
In another meeting, Sameer Baktoo, Chairman of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), J&K Chapter, along with members of SKAL INTERNATIONAL from Mumbai, discussed plans for the upcoming SKAL India Convention. They proposed to make it a Kashmir-based event after the Amarnath Yatra season, aiming to promote tourism in the region on a larger scale.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah patiently heard all the delegations and assured them of the government’s full support and timely action on their concerns.
