On the occasion of World Health Day, Gurj Division of the Indian Army organized a series of events across Mamun, Samba, and Kathua, reaffirming its commitment to promoting health and

wellness among the local population and students. The celebration aimed to spread awareness about the importance of preventive healthcare, physical fitness, and mental well-being.As part of the initiative, Yoga workshops

were conducted at schools in Samba and Kathua, witnessing enthusiastic participation from over 250 school children of DS Public School, Kathua & Calvary School, Samba. The sessions emphasized the benefits of yoga in daily life and encouraged students to adopt healthy habits and

mindfulness for holistic development.In Thriti village, a vibrant health awareness camp was held for local women. Led by a dedicated team of female Army doctors, the camp provided

essential consultations and comprehensive health check-ups, addressing key health issues and empowering women with vital health education.Additionally, a health awareness lecture was organised at Mamun Cantonment, where troops and families interacted with educators from Pratap World School.

The session focused on adopting a healthy lifestyle, covering topics such as balanced nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care highlighting the Army’s sustained efforts toward community health and wellness.
